Welfare – an alternative vision
PCS is launching a pamphlet on the need to defend and strengthen the welfare state. The 24-page booklet will be unveiled at a public meeting in Brighton during the PCS conference in the city. The aim is to arm activists with the information needed to campaign against attacks on benefits, and to put forward ideas for the future of the welfare state.
PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka is speaking at the launch event with Labour MP John McDonnell, chair of the PCS parliamentary group, and Linda Burnip from Disabled People Against Cuts.
The meeting begins at 5.30pm in Syndicate 4 and is open to everybody.
